AffiliateWP offers a plethora of alternative affiliate URL variations, enhancing flexibility for affiliates. This functionality is further expanded with Custom Affiliate Slugs, granting affiliates the autonomy to craft unique “slugs,” which form the distinctive portion of their referral URLs.

Personalization and Relevance: Affiliates can create personalized slugs that align more closely with their business name, marketing strategies, or specific promotional activities. Whether it’s a relevant keyword, business tagline, or completely random term, custom slugs empower affiliates to tailor their links for maximum impact. Moreover, affiliates with confidential WordPress logins can opt for custom slugs to maintain privacy while utilizing affiliate links.

Administrative Control: Site administrators retain control over custom slug implementation. They can enable custom slugs for all affiliates or select individuals. On the admin interface’s “Edit Affiliate” page, administrators can modify or remove custom slugs associated with affiliates. Additionally, when adding new affiliates, configuring a custom slug is entirely optional. An export feature includes a “custom slug” column, facilitating easy tracking of assigned slugs for each affiliate.

Display Options: If the Default Referral Format is set to ID or Username, administrators can enable the “Show Custom Slug” option within Custom Affiliate Slug settings. This displays the affiliate’s custom slug (if assigned) alongside their ID or username on the Affiliate URLs tab of the Affiliate Area. This allows affiliates to continue using their ID or username if desired.

Implementation and Configuration: Upon installing and activating Custom Affiliate Slugs, a new option appears in the Default Referral Format select menu within the Affiliates Settings General tab. This enables administrators to display an affiliate’s referral URL using their custom slug rather than their ID or username. Affiliates can also generate referral URLs with their custom slugs through the URL generator, ensuring seamless integration and ease of use.
